Default Question: Cycling in January

We are coming for the month of Jan and were wondering if it would be worth it to bring our road bikes? Our car will be packed..golf clubs are a must but we love to cycle and have read on occasion that the car traffic is awful during the first few months of the year. We ride on the road not the paths. Is it safe?
Appriciate your thoughts,
Cecelia

Yes, you can cycle safely and in good weather nearly 365 days a year. If you'd like to ride with a group of other riders, there are two very active bike clubs.

Safe bicycling is available on the wide recretion trails that parallel Rt. 466, Buena Vista Blvd and Morse (south of Rt.466).

Take your road bike to the Withlacoochee Trail State Park - 46 miles of paved bike trail about a half hour drive West of TV.

I ride 20 miles a day on the road about 5 days a week. No problem, although there is considerably more traffic the first 3 months of the year. Don't leave ur bikes home as there is much opportunity to ride solo or in groups just about any day.
