Why? The vast majority of the folks who work at IRS are honest, hard working Americans who do a job that few would want (collect taxes). Unless you are committing a crime (in which a special part of the IRS call Criminal Investigation will find you), they do what has to be done to enforce the tax laws even when faced with unwarranted insults.

Don't blame the IRS for the mess that is the Tax Code. Congress passed the laws and passes thousands of special provisions. Rather than fess up to the reality of the mess they created, they blame the folks at the IRS. Shame on Congress!

Know all of the credits that politicians like to criticize? Last spring, Congress could only manage to find something like *2* out of hundreds to actually get rid of.

The original topic was contracting development of the healthcare.gov website to a Canadian company.

Many posts have strayed into other topics and veered towards politics.

Please return to the original topic.

To me and many others here, it's not the problem of a Canadian or other foreign company, so much as it is the cronyism in Washington.

There's 314 million people in America and the federal government has spent $394 million thus far on ACA? Why didn't they just give each of us a million and we could pay for our own healthcare!

Great minds think alike. That's similar to what my husband said after I read the article to him.....instead of paying for that website, they could have given everyone of us the same health plan that Congress has....

Both of us, having been self employed prior to retirement two years ago, know the high cost of paying Blue Cross/Blue Shield, esp. when we were raising the children.

I agree with your point but the math does not add up. 314 million people x $1000000 =
That would be $314000000000000 quadrillion dollars

NONE of the major network news are really fair and balanced.. They ALL have a political agenda and none of them coincide with mine which of course I think is fair and balanced.

Is no one a moderate? I am not an independent, but I do grow more conservative every day...just not sitting WAY over there on the right end. and not sitting way over on the left end either.

This way no one likes me and no one agrees with me.

Sweetie does. And Helene.

Gracie, we're 99% in agreement 100% of the time (except the adult beverage part).
