Cool Tree trimmers cheating

Why is it being allowed when most tree and shrub trimmers take their cuttings with them and apparently have to pay for disposal AND OTHERS DO THE TRIMMING AND PLACE HUGE PILES AT THE STREET CURB FOR PICK UP BY OUR DISPOSAL SERVICES ?? ISN'T THIS KIND OF CHEATING THE SYSTEM ??

Technically, it's not allowed. If the waste company finds out this was not left by the homeowner, they won't pick it up. Hopefully, these trimmers are at least bundling the yard waste.

To me, it is cheating. It cheats the trimmers who take their waste and pay the dump fees. It cheats the waste company since it is twice as much work to pick up, especially if not bundled. It cheats the dump of fees. And it cheats the neighbors who have to look at this trash until Wednesday rolls around.

I would make this a discussion item, and withhold payment until I saw all the waste loaded on their truck....

The previous "NO" answer is not correct. I did a check with the disposal people and was told this type of activity is not allowed. I was also told this particular trimming company is notorious for doing this. The disposal company will not pick up this yard waste tomorrow, leaving the property owner holding the bag for getting the waste removed. I hope M&M Landscaping has to return and pick up this large pile of yard waste.

It seems to me that the tree trimmings are the property of the home owner who hired the trimmer. If the homeowner trimmed his own trees and placed the trimmings at the roadside, would you think he was cheating? I don't think it is cheating. It is up to the home owner to dispose of the trimmings either through his pickup service or through his contract with the trimmer.

Not saying I'm sure, but this is my take also.

I agree, I pay for the refuse pickup, so if the trimmings are mine then the service I paid for should pick them up as my trimmings whether I did the work or paid someone else to do the work.

What? That makes so much sense it can not possibly be the correct answer. Surely there has to be SOMEONE complicit in some scam for something.

Sorry, but most trimming companies include a charge for cleanup and factor in dump fees. So, either MM cuts the cost and forces neighbors to look at large piles of lawn trim for days at a time or makes some extra money at the expense of its clients and still forces neighbors to look at the refuse. Plus, I sincerely doubt a trimmer would bag and bundle. Not a company I would want to use.

BTW, for those who feel it is okay to leave the garbage since it is from your yard, how would you feel if you had a major renovation and the contractor left all the building garbage for your trash company?

We're lucky here -- we don't get charged for large amounts of garbage but that certainly doesn't mean we should take advantage of the company nor subject our neighbors to garbage piles any longer than absolutely necessary.

That is happening just this week in my 'hood. What is super cool is the semi's blocking the T intersection and the porto potty in the driveway...but we are decent neighbors and dont bitch because it does not effect us, and is temporary. I am a real fan of air nailers at six AM as well....

Some people in TV need to get over their self important delusions and find a hobby.

If this is such a big deal to you, why complain to the TOTV audience at large instead of just telling your tree trimmer to take it with him. Why make a big deal out of something that you can easily control rather than making a federal case about it?

If I understood Warren correctly, it wasn't his trimmers but his neighbor's leaving the trimmings.

When Warren refers to "the property owner", I think he means a neighbor rather than himself.
