I am a meteorologist and your theory doesn't have any merit. And, the meteorologists on TV aren't "playing".

We live in Hillsborough, and our lanai faces north, so without any homes behind us, I can see past the northern end of TV. I have noticed that on a partly cloudy day like today, there are far fewer clouds over TV, than over the surrounding areas. Unless it is an intense storm like last night (we got dumped on here), I think that reflected heat may actually cause the clouds to evaporate.

I did not mean to infer that television meteorologists are "playing". I was referring to a fictional character in a show. I used to know a couple of meteorologists, and they were very bright people with advanced degrees. I apologize if I've offended anyone.
