I'm specifically inquiring about 'ready made' meals ie. FACTOR. I've seen ads online and now on t.v. Has anyone here tried them and if so, how would you review them??

Focus Factor, was recommended multiple times, especially because of the option to keto, which will help if you still require gluten free. Focus is on the mid price range but delivery can be expensive. Other local options buy a roasted chicken and add any side you like. Costco chicken will last us 3-4 meals, plus extra snacks for the cat. Sprouts and Fresh Market have prepared meals with certain days are discounted. I know a year ago neither appealed, looks can be deceiving, try a few to see.

But the only way you will truly know is to trial them for a month and determine for yourself. As for shipping in the beginning there is a deal. Then price may change. Personally I like the product that Sprouts has, but you didn’t like the way they looked. Have used Cook Unity, Chefs for Seniors, not in TV, and my parents were extremely happy with both. Both are listed for TV, you must go to each site, and plan your meals then cost will show up. Can’t give you random quotes, for Focus, Unity, CfS, it would be pointless. My suggestion order Focus, if unhappy move to the next option. But not one poster on TOTV shouldn’t convince you their palate loves something, so will you.

I have researched these. There are the microwave types; the one that uses a "free*" toaster oven (tovala) , and the ones that have ingredients that you use to make your meals.
I would use Tovala | Chef-crafted meals, delivered fresh to your door the downside is cost at 12.99 per meal. Unsure about gluten free. * with sales it is free, right now they are 69.00 or 119.00 for the toaster oven or you can use your own. There are two models of the oven, one uses steam. They were on sale over the holidays and are on sale quite often. Last edited by Toymeister; 01-22-2026 at 03:17 PM. |

The Tovala oven is $69 on the website now. We've been happy with them for several years. The oven does more than cook the Tovala meals. We really like to reheat pizza we have frozen from Marcos!
If I or someone who is using Tovala refers you you may get a better price on the oven. |

It sounds more like you need to find a place that serves three squares. As you said you both have mobility issues as well as finding someone or something to cook, IMO.

I've been trying Factor meals. So far I've been satisfied with the food -- what I've chosen has tasted good and the portion size has been just right. The meals are very convenient. The weekly menus are pretty extensive, and selections can be filtered to show only gluten free as well as a number of other categories. I've focused on high protein personally.
I have two minor complaints -- First the meals are shipped from IL by fedex, and fedex seems particularly unreliable lately, often missing delivery windows and recently delivering medication to the totally wrong address. That being said, the meals are shipped in insulated boxes with ice packs. With recent weather, keeping the meals cool in shipping hasn't been a problem, but could be more of an issue in the hot summer months. The second complaint is that I feel like the means are a little overpriced, but that's subjective. I've been ordering more meals at once (the price per meal drops at higher quantities) and freezing some of the meals for use later. They don't recommend freezing, but it's worked for me so far. If you're interested in trying it out, they have a referral program I can share for up to $150 off your first order ( I think it depends on how many meals you order). Send me a PM with your email and I can send the discount. |

I have also used Home Chef and they now have their own version of the same type of ready-made non-frozen microwavable meals called Tempo. We have liked these too. Home Chef gives the added flexibility of being able to mix and match if you want to get some ready-made and some "oven ready" or express meals if you want to do a little "light cooking" as I call it. They have a huge variety now and you can select from all their types of meals within a single plan - it is the best of both worlds in my mind. |

Publix has ready made meals for one. It may be cheaper to buy 2 of those than use the expensive ones advertised on tv. Nothing will be as good though as something you cook yourself at home with fresh ingredients.
