What is with these idiots that continue to bring their dogs to the Squares when there is a major event like last night at Lake Sumter? Do they really think they are doing the poor dog a favor by confining them in a crowded atmosphere, not to mention encounters with other dogs? I am certain the dog would prefer to be home in an air conditioned, quiet environment than subjected to the large crowds at the Squares. Not sure if these folks are starved for attention or just ignorant as to what is best for their supposed beloved animal.
Don't get me wrong, I love seeing people walking their dogs when I take my morning walk and often stop to chat and pet them, but a crowded event like at the Square is to place for animals of any kind. I must say that I didn't particularly enjoy watching a dog urinate 5 feet from where I was eating my Italian sausage, but chalked it up to the owner being a moron and not the dog. He was just doing what dogs do. |

Before you continue to be critical of dog owners do you know what it cost these days to hire a dog sitter per hour?

Why would you need a dog sitter to go out for 3-4 hours. I have 2 dogs, there just fine for 8 hours and even longer

I have a happy dog story.
I teed off at 6:08 on Okichchachobie [or whatever] and it goes to the dog park be fore it loops back. All those dogs looked like they were have the time of their life. It was a pick-up match and the woman I met told me that she takes her dog there and now in the morning, every day when she gets up the dog is giving her "Can we go today? look". |

I had a German Shepherd for 15 years. Why would I need to hire a dog sitter for a couple of hours at the Square? Ridiculous!

Are you saying the dog cannot stay home by itself without a sitter?

Some nights, I have to find new seats because I am highly allergic to dogs. So many times I go to a new place then someone else comes along and sits their dog in a chair close to me. I once politely asked a woman, after I had to move three times that night, if she would not sit her dog in the chair next to me. I explained my allergy. She was rabidly offended. So she moved to a chair right behind me. Sigh.
