Now the rec centers, the closest one I see is the Sea Breeze, which I visited in April, really nice.

I don't see a rec ctr near Fernandina or for that matter south of 466A, maybe not built yet???

I assume all rec centers are available to all residents
Your closest pool is Bonifay. Colony Cottage is your closest regional rec center to Fernandina...Just across 466A.

I see two pools closer i think (Manatee and Bradenton), also Sea Breeze may look closer that colony, hard to tell on the map I have.

I plan on being there in two weeks or so, then I'll have drive it to see for sure.

Are there any Regional centers planned S of 466A?

A prior thread on the topic:

New Regional Rec Center? - Talk of The Villages

Keep in mind that the pools at the Regional Rec Centers are sports pools - most of the usage of them is for various scheduled activities.

Each neighborhood (Sanibel, Fernandina, Charlotte south of 466-A) are village pools and are adult (30 and over) only at all times. Captiva is a neighborhood rec center and is a family pool, which means anyone under 30 anytime of the day. Colony is a regional sports pool, residents only, no guests admitted; just across 466-A. Gilchrist neighborhood pool will open this fall. Hope this helps.you.
