It's interesting how some people feel they can do what they want without regard for others. I often think if I'm ever alone in the pool I would play my portable BT - I have never done it however - even if I am the only one there. This person should not be doing it either.

There is a man who does it at the Virginia Trace pool. I also don’t like it but the “regulars” seem to enjoy it, so I just grin and bear it!

go the nearest rec center and speak with the manager there. Each rec center has the responsibility to oversee the adult pools nearest to them

I don't care for loud music or talkers either at the pools. Since so many seem to feel that way maybe it would be a useful idea for TV to designate some pools as "quiet pools" just like they designate some as "family" or "sports" pools.

Just rude and inconsiderate. Keep column low if you must be entertained at the pool.

I would go in the Rec center and speak to the attendant. Let them handle it if it is a rules infraction

I am new to TV. The Pool is a community place for all residence to enjoy. I can't believe how people can be so inconsiderate of others! Like someone said, if you want to play music wear earbuds. Not everyone wants to hear your music! There should be a rule posted NO LOUD MUSIC PLAYING!!

Radio is one thing. But kids in adult only pools seems to be OK now? Seems rules are for everyone else.

Thanks for all your suggestions. Not sure what I'll do going forward but nice to know I'm not alone in feeling they're being inconsiderate.

Kids are allowed in the rec pools, but not in the neighborhood pools

They need to use headphones so as not to disturb others around them who might want to read a book.

On kids in neighborhood pools, it may be visitors that don't know the rules and should be referred to the nearest rec pool for families.

My favorite music at the pool memory was when “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” came out in 1967. (My last summer at the pool—after that I had to work every summer.) The radio station we favored played the album for 24 hours with no advertising, over and over. It showed me new possibilities for music. (Of course, there were many more possibilities I would learn about later.) I remember when “Will you still need me, will you still feed me, when I’m 64” seemed impossibly far in the future. Now it’s in the past. |

The loud talkers may need hearing aids which they have removed to go into the pool.

Loud music is rude but talking? Come on. If you want dead silence in a public venue then stay home.
