If you find a Specialist is STRONGLY suggest you have your friend call for appointment and provide a release of medical records ASAP.

Dr Elias Mavrofrides is an excellent choice but he is one of 5 or more retina specialists at the Florida Retina Institute. Mavrofrides is at the Lady Lake office only Thursdays and getting an appointment with him there might be impossible for the timeframe needed. Two choices: use another retina specialist on a different day at the Lady Lake office or schedule an appointment at one of their other locations and drive a half hour. Dr Mav may be at Mt Dora on Tuesdays. With a smartphone or GPS you can go almost anywhere.
