I don’t care what appliances or brand people get. In most all cases comes with some preventative maintenance care. refrigerator’s have to occasionally clean the cooling system or it will over heat, stop cooling, and die miserable death ☠️ Eventually and most likely sooner than later.

Ask yourself?? When was last time I pulled it out, cleaned behind it, took back cardboard cover off, vacuumed and blew cooling coils and fan out? If I had refrigerator that’s stopped cooling and I haven’t done it in awhile (years) or never blew the dust/ lint/animals hair out of the cooling system. I would do that first before I called repair guy.

Also frost free don’t rally mean it get all frost from inside(under the covers where it controls temperature), Ice maker leaks and flap door hang ups may not get defrost. Which will cause cooling problem or lack of cooling. Sometimes manual defrost required. Now if I done all that and still don’t cool then must be system failure somewhere. Now would be time to call repairman.

Would appreciate any advise and experience with a particular brand. Thank you.

Don’t buy a Samsung. Told to me by friend in the business. They break often and parts are pricey.

I bought a brush but it doesn't reach everything. But I imagine it kicks up some dust.

I vacuum first, then I tape damp towel on back blow front front and do same thing from back it catches most of the dust.

The compressor on LG refrigerators have a 10 year warranty. LG had a problem with compressors. Had mine fixed for Free. Call LG ASAP. Get it fixed.

I wouldn’t buy Samsung or LG. It’s too difficult to get the parts for repair and the cost if you can get the parts is ridiculous. My Samsung washer was giving me problems. Turns out it may have been the door latch which would have cost $300 to fix. And then you pay for installation. No way. Bought a new GE washer

My LG died after 5 1/2 years 6 months after warranty. It's the Linear Compressor and LG will send a new one. Around $500 for someone to install. I opted to get a side by side with no Linear Compressor.

Today they all carry a one-year warranty because that’s how much they last, count your blessings you got seven years and MoveOn. Make sure you fix the one you have do not buy a new one as you will not get more than a year or year and a half out of it.

GE has been nothing but junk for us. Had one in our "first" retirement home built and it was garbage. My daughter needed a new fridge. Told her that to avoid GE at all costs. Guess, what? She didn't listen. Took 4 months to even get the thing. Then when it came it was missing the inside of the freezer door. Took another month to get that and get it delivered. They have had to replace the ice maker twice and had someone come in because the freezer wasn't cooling at all. Not sure what the problem there was because they guy they sent seemed to know nothing about how to fix it. The unit was less than a year old when all this happened. I have been careful to not say "I told you so".

I currently have a LG fridge and have had a sensor replaced in 6 years (covered under warranty). Hopefully my luck holds as I love my unit. I have a LG washer and dryer that is over 13 years old and the only things replaced (so far) were a couple of sensors in the dryer that hubby did himself using a YouTube video. Cost us less than $20 for the parts.

Default GE Appliances are owned by China; GE sold it to them 3-4 years ago

GE agreed to let the Chinese use their GE name until 2035.... plz do not support China
