At 6:36 PM ET this evening STS Endeavour will be launched into the Eastern sky. Go outside, and look toward the eastern horizon. You won't be able to miss it.

Also, don't miss the Perseids meteor shower. This is supposed to be a good year for observing. They're bright and fast. At the beginning of August you can spot a dozen meteors per hour by August 10. I saw a few last night before hitting the sack. Look to the northeast after dark about 10 degrees off the horizon but the radiant will rise as the night progresses. Find Pleiades (the seven star cluster) and look to it's 11 o'clock about 20 degrees. The Perseids rapidly increase to a peak of 50-80 meteors per hour by the night of August 12-13. No binoculars needed. Have fun y'all.
