I am with you! LOL
As someone else posted, it depends on your rental. Some have everything imaginable and some are sparse.
I wish I had BROUGHT some spices, good knives and my favorite skillet. Things that I wish I had not brought....too many clothes.

Oops, I thought of something else. None of the rentals we've had have had good lighting in the living room or bedrooms. I mean good enough to read a book or the newspaper. Maybe we should take some lightbulbs since Mom loves to read!

When we drive we take a medium size Oscar cooler with coffee creamer and drinks. Also take snacks like cheese and crackers, and coffee. This way we can snack and relax at motels if we arrive late late and have coffee in the Villages first thing in the AM. Cooler works great for tail gating polo matches.

Google knows all, but I do like dictionaries --my first wife bought me the Oxford English Dictionary - in 2 volumes (with magnifying glass included) as a wedding present.

Ok here is my list I have rented here a few times and elsewhere many times. I have always traveled by plane so have to keep it small.
#1 even when traveling for a short time I take a water filter. I use to use brita but now there is a new smaller one called a drop that is like a funnel and has a carry case.
#2 I take little screw-top pill cases (you can get them at any drug store) I put a small amount of my favorite spices in each one and they screw together to make a little spice tower real small and easy.
#3 a motion activated night light or two, so that I can put in a walkway so when I get up in an unfamiliar place in the middle of the night I don't break my neck.
#4 A cable to connect my tablet (We have a surface) or laptop to the Tv. A thumb drive with my favorite movies on it. A lot of rentals only have very basic cable and you can use your computer to stream content or the thumb to view movies. Very important if you get the flu and are stuck inside.

Great suggestions---and they don't take up space.

I always travel with little night lights that can be plugged in.
Sometimes I forget them in hotel rooms but they don't cost much.

When traveling I bring my favorite tea and coffee in case it is not available. Greetree Dollar Store carries all the basics at very low cost in case they are needed. I used to have a little suitcase filled when we travelled by car including a mini keurig but it's a little much by plane.

Totally agree- I can't figure out why they don't sell Hills Brothers anywhere around the villages- that is the best coffee - I love it.
