Default Renting to the under 55 crowd

I have tried to search this, but have been unable to find the answer(s) I need. I have been contacted by some summer interns that they need housing for the summer to work at the local hospital nearby. Since they are between 25-30 is it possible to rent to them. Then if they are able to do this what can they do with a guest pass if they are under 30?

TV should jump through hoops to attract interns to The Villages. Offer them lots of amenities. Bend some rules. Recruit them to stay. Couldn't hurt to have many doctors at the pools, golf courses, recreation centers...

The only age restriction is no permanent resident 18or under, so age wise they are fine. Being 25-30 means they will have to use the Family pool and not the adult pool. Otherwise, they will have all the privileges of any resident, if you transfer your resident ID to them.... Exec golf, pools, rec facilities, sports courts, etc. or guest privileges...sort of same as above but with higher guest fees.

Might sound good but you have to treat "them" the same as you would any other person. This would be a very slippery slope.

I don't think the OP is necessarily referring to doctors. "Summer intern" usually refers to college students working in businesses.

at 25 to 30 lets hope they are med students...summer interns come into hospitals to gain experience which is mandatory for their career...Lets be honest i would rent to them, just as others have rented to my three children when they went for summer interns....after all if they screw up it follows them for the rest of their lives and after you have paid by age 30 over a quarter of a mil for that education. they only have time to sleep eat and work with rarely time to themselves.

The summer interns are seeking housing so they can work at the local hospital. I don't trust anyone under 65:.

Now I see the hospital part. No guarantee they are doctors, and I don't know if you're joking about the under 65 thing but I am pretty picky about who I rent to. Had a potential renter who informed me she would be bringing in her two daughters as well as her 3 grandchildren ranging from age 2 to 7. I held out for adults. My home isn't child proof and having a pool with a two year old is a recipe for disaster.

those 2-7 grandchildren could only have stayed 30 days per year.

Yeah, she was bringing them in for 2 weeks of the 30 day rental.

What happens when you bend one rule? Don't the rules no longer have meaning. "Bend some rules." is not the answer.

Last summer I rented to 2 Interns from California. They were medical students in their last year of residency. They were students from UC San Diego and worked for 3 months (rotation) at the Veterans facility in Mulberry. My neighbors said they rarely saw either of them, they WORK during the day. They were 30 & 25. These people are living on student loans and YES, they provide a valuable service to our area. And they LOVED The Villages. Before their arrival they were in Colorado and after they left their next stop was in Tennessee.

Thank you for inserting facts and insights. Discouraging younger people from coming here will be the death knell of TV. We need younger people to work here to keep everything going. We don't want it to turn into Geriatric Estates, and I doubt it would ever become Daytona Beach either.

Need to remember that it is a 55 plus community.

"Retirement Community"???? With the age of retirees creaping up every year, you might want to rethink that idea. I'm 48 and my wife is 45, we are here and enjoy ourselves quite a bit. We have the best kept home on our street because we do it ourselves!
You wont even know these young people are here. They will be working 12-18 hours a day! Not to mention, renting to them is well within the rules.
