Most of the lifestyle visit houses are very large with extra room you would probably fit in very well in their home.

Villages Hometown Property Management is worth checking out. I just searched a random week in November (not Thanksgiving) and it returned 185 homes.

You might need to rent 7 days rather than 5 but even if you left early you should still get more for your money than if you stayed at a hotel.

Confirmation bias is real; I can find any number of articles that say so.

I think it depends on the number of people. When I moved to The Villages, I lived at the Comfort Suites in Spanish Springs for 2 months (December and January). It was actually cheaper than renting a house. They cleaned my room and provided a free breakfast. I could walk to the square, and it was a few steps away from Chili's.

Right. My Lifestyle Visit was 3 bedrooms/2 bath Courtyard house, like most are. I brought my dear friend to stay with me We each had our own bedroom & bathroom. My daughter & her friend came up to visit. Plenty of room. Everyone had a great time. I enjoyed having others take a look around & they gave me their opinions. Helped me feel very confident in my decision.

There’s a newer Home2Suites by Hilton in Wildwood near Brownwood Square too. H2S includes a basic breakfast & has in-room kitchenette with micro, fridge & dishes.Daily room cleanings.. H2S are also modern & nice but affordably priced.

We used VillagersHomes4Rent when we could only come down for a week at a time. There are weekly rentals available, sometimes you just have to email the owner to find out.

Keep in mind - if you're considering the advice of people suggesting you stay with your friends at their lifestyle visit.

The contract they sign to stay in those lifestyle properties are based on double occupancy. It's actually in the contract. We questioned it, because we wanted my parents to come see the houses we were looking at, and the community itself. They told us they didn't mind if my parents stayed overnight for a night or two, but any more than that would be against the contract and potentially cost a lot more money.

I know there are people that rent out rooms on a daily/weekly/month basis. I know of one, but not going to give out their number without asking them.
