Default Lots Unavailable

We have a lot in Fernandina Unit 205 which we plan to build on in 2013. We look at the map on TV's website everyday to check the lot and its neighboring lots to see if we have new neighbors. All of sudden (ovenight) the lots next to us on both sides changed from available to unavailable (white).
Does anyone know why these would become unavailable overnight?

Unavailable means that a Spec home is going to built on that lot that is not sold yet.

Wow. There are 24 Spec homes being built in Fernandina Unit 205.
I presume that Spec homes are built by TV to speed up the selling process.

Or it could be a combination of the two, sold and spec homes.

The way designer homes are selling I believe that Spec homes will be all you can buy assuming the trend continues. Before the "down turn", that was the way the developer sold in TV.

Yes that is what I have heard from a few salespeople. They are going BACK to spec homes for designers and very shortly! My assumption is that is why so many are now being built in the new neighborhoods.

We also "heard" they are ramping up 20+ new designer model homes....the new premier section has been open for about a month.

My guess is that they want to have plenty of inventory when the snowbirds arrive -- for the impulse buyers. There are many more neighborhoods coming online where you will be able to choose a lot and custom-build, if that is what you want to do.

I sure hope they continue to make adaptions for the disabled. We found many of the pre built homes to be difficult for people with mobility issues. Only one designer plan with wide doorways and a wide shower. Seems odd to us.

When we bought in section 205 and then changed our minds and bought in 208, the initial lot turned white for a couple of days and then turned green again.

I think it means there is a home under construction on that lot. Be it spec or custom. But then again, I could be very mistaken! Somewhere along the line I heard or read that. Mine is brown for now, my design team meeting is in Sept, so I guess I will wait to see if it remains brown or if it will turn to white!

I have also heard they are building spec designer homes now and interested parties will have to select from what there is available. There will be upgrades already built in of course, so lots of selection. They are dropping two of the floor plans The Fern and one of the Pines. That is what I heard from a salesperson.
