I'm with you on this one. Before my mobility issues, I would always return the cart. NOW though, if someone is walking towards the store I'll sometimes ask them if they need a cart and always I get some type of affirmative answer. I've often wondered why the engineers that plan the parking lots don't put cart storages close to the handicapped spaces. From the social media comments (not just this one) people tend to be very judgmental without knowing what's going on. I'd say---you wouldn't want to walk in my shoes for a day, a week or a month. I get the remark, "but you "look" great!!" Well don't judge from the outside.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Publix pays people to help customers rolls their shopping carts/buggies/trollies/carriages (whatever you call them from whence you came) to their cars for a few reasons: 1. It prevents people from damaging the carts or leaving them in far places where they might get missed, which makes them easy targets for theft. 2. It prevents customers from damaging their own or other peoples vehicles, when they leave them outside the corrals for the wind (or customers who don't see/look in their mirrors) to move the carts. 3. It is a good customer service feature in general, something grocery clerks used to do back in the 1960's and 1970's but got phased out. |

You might if people leave them IN the Handicapped Parking space and you couldn’t park. I use a mobility scooter and can’t move the cart unless I park out in the aisle, unload my scooter and move the cart and try to get back in the car to park and…well I think you get the picture. Please don’t leave them in the handicapped spaces.

In all seriousness there seems to be an issue re the handicap parking spaces.
One poster is glad theres a cart present to assist them into the store. Another complains of the carts presence in or near the spot. Is there a right answer here? |

I’m surprised panhandlers haven’t been outside in parking lot with sign saying, I will return you’re cart for that quarter. ![]() ![]() |
