I highly recommend Ken's antenna. Faith goes above and beyond to get the maximum number of channels.

WESH comes from 2 directions, one is Melbourne, which is 60 mi away. Your antenna should be about 25 feet off the ground.

No problem with Direct TV on roof.

Height off the ground is the key. I am on Glenview GC by Savannah Center, so about as far north as you can get. I get channel 2 perfectly 100% of the time with my garage attic antenna. But my attic is quite tall so the antenna is 18' above the ground.

The antenna is aimed at about 110° I believe, right at the Orlando transmitter.

Also, the attic has no radiant barrier in the way, as the metal which would kill reception.

I installed a signal amplifier where the antenna cable enters the house. It would have been better to install it at the antenna but I didn't have a 110V outlet in the attic. The cable goes 70' or so before it reaches my TV.

So if you can get another 5' of height by installing the antenna on your roof you will have better reception.

Question Insurance

Make sure your warranty on your roof is not impacted by installing a Disc on the roof?

I have many directional antennas and it took some time to get the right position set up for the most watched channels. They are slightly different locations in the same general direction. Some less directional antenna may work a bit better.

I researched this. By law you are allowed have an antenna, no covenant can supersede this rule. You can have it on a pole. I decided to not get one but I know I could have. There are several on poles in my neighborhood (I live in Chatham).
