Default Roundabouts and golf cart safety

Since this has been a hot topic on here, I thought I would let you know that on our lifestyle visit, there were two brochures in the home....one for roundabout rules; the other, for golf cart rules. Both were on the coffee table in the living room.

I have to say, that after a week there, I experienced no close calls or had any reason to fear for my life. Everyone was very friendly and courteous everywhere we went, including all of the restaurants. I have NO complaints!

We can't wait to get back there as full timers...about December.

That's good news. I've run across too many folks who haven't even heard about the roundabout pamphlet, let alone seen!

It's going to take an awfully long time to get people to follow the rules of driving a roundabout when such frequent drivers as UPS completely ignore how to maneuver! I almost took his number, then realized that I'd have to look down as I found a pen, etc.

Interestingly about the time the first post once published we were coming back from Colony Plaza and in about one minutes time witnessed two near misses. One in the roundabout by the Hadley gate and the other just beyond the gate when a couple in a golf cart decided to make a u-turn without first looking. Of course come late this year these incidents will start going up. What has really amazed us since we moved here is the number of people who seemingly have forgotten what that red octagonal sign means by the roadside.

Glad y'all had a great time memason. I always provide those two brochures (along with other fun and helpful information) to my renters.

We will be in TV Memorial Day weekend and the next week-- yea!!! I suspect there will be a lot of visitors Memorial Day weekend.

This is an excellent time to remind ourselves to use extra caution during this heavy travel period, and while in TV, to watch out for those who are less familiar.
