Default Rules of posting

OK I use my iPad for almost all of my posting. And I do realize that probably 85% of the time since it doesn't have a real keyboard I use verbal posting. As I look back at some of my previous posts, I have noticed some incorrect spelling. So to all of those who check spelling sorry but if Siri can't get it right who cares. Does anyone else use this feature when they're posting I find it quick convenient and for the most part the spelling correctly. Grammar on the other hand is another story.

Since I'm usually sitting in the living room with my husband, he would think a) I'm talking to him, or 2) I'm nuts. (2 wouldn't be far off the mark...)

I certainly have been called mentally ill by many since 1991. I often make sure I go by the nuts section in Publix just to give myself a little private laugh. They may have moved it on me with their latest remodeling. That may get the Monk in me a little upset. Monk is the obsessive-compulsive detective from one of my favorite shows of the same name-- Monk. I love the opening numbers. A librarian at East Lake Community Library-- Manny Leite-- back around 2002 told me to make sure I watch the show. Maybe, he was trying to tell me something? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monk_(TV_series) I volunteered at East Lake Community Library for about three years for around 6 hours every week.

Default Ipad posting.

I use the ipad keyboard and my fat fingers do not always hit the key I intended to use.

I post almost exclusively with voice to text on my smartphone or tablet. It really is convenient, but it is a pain to remember to dictate the punctuation. Otherwise your post may look like it was written by a third grader.

My downfall is not going back and rereading the post carefully before I hit the send button. I can't tell you how many times I've gone back and looked and I am horrified at what I posted.

I regularly do Facebook chat in the same manner with my sister from Arkansas. Since it is my sister, I don't bother to reread it -I just talk and hit post. Half the time it doesn't even make sense . I feel like I'm speaking very clearly, but obviously my tablet thinks otherwise. When I used to apologize to my sister about the gobbledygook, she said "oh don't worry I figured out the code a long time ago. I just tried to think of something that rhymes with whatever the word is or sounds similar and I can usually sort it out".

So, OP, you're not alone! ( Also, for some reason my tablet puts a space between the last word and the period when I'm doing voice to text .) Very frustrating! See ?

Often I find that the post I write doesn't convey what I'm actually trying to say! For that reason, I find the "Preview Post" to be a valuable tool.
