I'm just off the phone with a guy who owns property near 466 and 301 who says TV is going to build for medical staff on property west of 301 that will not be considered as Village residents.
ibid...haha.

What about the new Season's 52 restaurant in the so called "mall"?

And the Katy Bells like establisment somewhere in Brownwood?

The past would suggest the real transactions like when/if Kohl's or Home Depot were coming or not. Most of us found out when it was announced they signed a contract.

Rumors are in the category of wishful thinking. Doesn't hurt to have them as long as no harm is done.

And I just love the authentication of a friend of the friend, or someone in high places, or even better someone who knows someone in high places, or someone in a position to know these things....really. Most people in a position to know these things are not likely to be putting out the word....they all sound like out house ramblings to me.

This development is called Oxford Oaks -- west of US 301 and south of CR 466 (more precisely, north of CR 214). The Wildwood City Commission approved the development on Sept. 24, 2013.

Pages 31-51.

"for medical staff" -- It will be for anyone.

"will not be considered as Villages residents" -- True.

The problem now with the big malls, enclosed, that were booming for many years is the lack of Department stores to anchor. No longer can one store anchor it and a firm like Macy's bought out many other big chains. Speaking from Philadelphia and Balti-Wash areas. They Hechts bought Woodward Lothrop, then they headed North and bought John Wanamaker, the builder of the First Department Store. Then they finagled their way and bought Strawbridge and Clothier. In between buying Lord and Taylor.

So the big Mall in Christiana DE which had Strawbridges, Bamberger's which belonged to Macys, Penneys, and Wanamakers. The beautiful Wanamakers Building was first a Lord and Taylor, but Macy's just wanted one store. Strawbridge's closed a long time now a Nordstrom, the Wanamakers torn down replaced by Target.

So, are they enough stores for a big Mall?

here is where the "new Villages" is being built. It also happens to be the same Island that Gary is involved in building a deep water port and if you call the number they answer "it's a great day in The Villages" you will also find that a model of home is called Bougainvillea and that they have set up their own health system and that they can help insure that you can close on your home in 30 days and so on and so on
