The population of Orlando is twenty times that of Lady Lake, so it'll take a lot of catching up...

...and I'm not sure Spanish Springs town square has quite the attraction of Disneyworld.

All of the surrounding communities, Mt. Dora, Travares, Leesburg, Wildwood all are having the same conversations regarding the mass developments and the impacts.

Crime is already up in the Town of Lady Lake and also throughout the Villages. It’s only going to get worse.

By placing a moratorium on building, rezoning agricultural lands and annexation this situation can be slowed down to where it can be better managed.

Mileage rates go up on property to maintain roads, infrastructures and to pay for emergency services not to mention the School Board taxes because more schools have also got to be facilitated.

This has dire impacts financially to all of us. I’m sure homeowners policies will also see some form of a hike also

If I came in and put a High School in your front yard without you having prior knowledge would you open your arms to it?

There are those who like and enjoy urban and those who like and enjoy rural. What right does someone have to come in and force urban on me without my permission.

Are you saying we can only vote on what others think we should have?
So, this is what it is all about. I for one am not interested in assisting you in your attempts to keep the view outside you window unchanged. You should have bought more land.

Default You can move?

I get where you are coming from. Respectfully, if you don’t like what a landowner is doing, you can relocate? I wouldn’t expect otherwise. If the Marion County area was more Villages, complaints might give you an ear, but it is the world we live in.

Most people who go into politics, whether national or local, do so because they enjoy the power, not selflessly to help others and make a better community.

The bigger the operation, the more their power, so why would they turn down expansion - or listen to those wanting their community to stay small?

Why should I have to pack up and leave, I have a vested interest in where I live. If the United States Of America in which we live for freedom and liberty were to have run many, many years ago where would we be. We fight for our rights and freedoms here last time I checked.

If now we can't fight for what we believe in then what's the point.

Well, other property owners have rights, too, including the right to develop their properties, whether they adjoin yours or are nearby, whether you like it or not. It is their property, not yours. BTW, with development, the value of nearby properties usually increase to the owners' benefit.

It was just a question. You don’t have to, you can stay. No one is making anyone move. Just…

Respect the landowner who owns 1300 acres who wants to do what they want on their own property.

It isn’t like there aren’t several mobile home courts around the Villages already anyway. Some are very nice. Just look at the super nice one Hammock Cove being built over ugly sod just off Griffin and Marion. The lake will make a nice view for them. Visit Yale lake to give you an idea of what is coming. The area is very nice!
