Default After Christmas Blues

Happens every year to us. Feel very depressed packing away the Christmas decorations. Anyone else?

January has always be a difficult month for many. Even The Villages hasn't done it for me this year. Someone posted to not let sad moments effect your whole day..but I am having a tough time also, perhaps if the weather was warmer, but that is a bad excuse for feeling the blues.

I hate to hear this.

We still have the tree up because our television journalist granddaughter and her fella are coming on Saturday, so I have one more Christmas dinner to cook. (Please forgive the bragging)

To you who are feeling down, I am always available for a few laughs. I have a pair of tap shoes and can be entertaining.

Well maybe not entertaining but I make good coffee.

No. Sweetie and Helene make good coffee.

What I am trying to say is don't be sad all alone. Come over and be sad with me.

Default Blue

Maybe These winter months would be a good time to try a new craft or activity? The cold weather doesn't help either. Let's hope warmer temps come soon!

This is why I take my decorations down before the new year because it means new and fresh. It's all what works for you.

I don't get depressed that Christmas is over; I get depressed for a few days because our time with our kids is over. Either the first two go home to Michigan and go back to work, or we come back from Australia and those two go back to work. Then it's another 6 months to a year before we see them again.

I've kind of connected this with Christmas in my mind. But when I think back to them going away to college and then to work, it's always been depressing for a few days after they've visited and then left.

Putting away the decorations is so much more difficult than putting them up. As I start removing them, I swear that I will never do this again as it is a pain. But then November comes and I can't wait to do it all over again!

I heard or read somewhere that Jan. 6 is the most depressing day of the year. Well, we're past that so cheer up. The days are getting longer and spring will come someday! You might be suffering from Seasonal Affective Disorder. Try to get as much light and sun as you can.
