Anybody know if the trash collectors will pick up small amount of scrap metal from curbside? I disassembled a dead desktop computer, removing all the electronic parts for disposal later. What's left is the metal chassis. (I believe Jacobs handles south of 466a waste, but no answers from them.)
Do scavengers still patrol the neighborhoods on trash days looking for this kind of stuff? |

Put it all in a trash bag, problem solved.

I have put out larger than that with no problems, however washers, dryers, hot water heaters need to schedule a special pickup, typically $10.

We often observe dumpster divers scouring the neighborhood the evening before trash pickup.

Lots of good stuff folks will leave with their trash or put out a sign free for the taking.

Correct. $10 per special pickup…1 item or a truckload in The Villages (Lake or Sumter)

I put a washer to the curb 2 weeks ago. The same village water service contractor came by a day later with a truck full of appliances, loaded it up with lift gate and off they went. I don't know if the Villages contracts them to do it or not or it is an enterprising employee, making a couple of bucs. A good service never less..

I knew a scrapper in Chicago who often said the streets were not paved with gold, but the alleys were.

These days the streets are lined with dead bodies
