As far as paying for my groceries, I don't mind using my own $10/$20 bills that I've had for at least a week before using them. However, since money is a germy thing at best, I don't want any cash coming back to me in raw form. Otherwise, I'll end up having to decontaminate it all when I get home. IMHO, there are mask types that have to be tied in two place, preferably using a slip-knot so it can come off more easily. Otherwise, they'll have that sucker on their face for a while. Depends on how difficult it is to remember that you're positive.

I wear my mask in my car.
I have found that sometimes wearing my mask in my car is more efficient than taking it off and then putting it back on almost immediately .
Example: went to Walgreens, got in car and drove across the street to get gas, got back in car to drive a minute to Publix.
Constantly taking the mask off and on is not prudent. Hands over mask, hands on whatever, hands back on face adjusting the mask. Too much a possibility of virus or germs!

Did you read the posts I was responding to and the context of my answer. I didn't say I couldn't accept any person, they are free to do what they want. I said I couldn't accept THE REASON for wearing a mask in a car was that they forgot to take it off. It may apply to some of the people, but not the dozens upon dozens that I have observed. The same with the allergy theory. Maybe a few, but then where were all the masks last year? My OPINION was that the poster put out by the recreation dept. was misleading, you are entitled to your opinion as well

IRL, there are hundreds of self appointed "monitors" roaming the grocery stores, the pools, the golf courses and the restaurants who definitely fall into the MYOB category. They will argue that they are "protecting" the public, but in reality they never grew out of the 3rd grade hall monitor personae.

If you were still practicing, what would you be telling your patients? What would you say to them, not only about masks, but about precautions, in general? What protocols would you insist upon being in place in your office?

Think about people using cash to pay for their fast food then immediately eat the food without washing their hands. Used to happen all the time, everywhere fast food is sold. Think of ball parks and all those people buying hot dogs with cash then eating the hot dog right away. This is why we have immune systems. This new virus out there has added something to the mix that humanity has not anticipated though. Gotta be more careful now.

You replied to a post that said "based on testing............". That is absolutely correct. The more antibody testing that is done, the more people we will find have had the disease but were asymptomatic. The more active virus testing that is done is also finding people that are positive and are asymptomatic. These statistics will drive the mortality rate way down from were it is now. So......yes, this virus may turn out to be not nearly as deadly as it looks now. Thus, Covid will probably be like the flu when it comes to mortality rate. Covid is more contagious however, so Covid may have many more people infected but are not impacted by the virus.
