So happy for you. We too sold our business (in 2007) and have been in the Villages for almost 3 years now. Here for life, and in case you haven't heard this common Villages phrase, "We are frogs, we aren't leaving here till we croak"!! Good luck on your move and congrats!!!

Finally, exactly one year later from putting the deposit on our new place, we will be there permanantly. Three months does not seem THAT long! We are thrilled.
Congrats. November is a beautiful month in THE VILLAGES.
Hope your mom is still doing well so she can enjoy the holidays there.
Best wishes on your new stage in life........

Thank you! Moving my mom into Sumter Place Assisted Living August 29 and my husband and I are looking forward to a week in The Villages then before we return back to Seattle to wrap up work, pack the house and hit the road. We have been to TV twice in November, paradise. My mom is doing amazingly well, we have her big 90th birthday bash before we move her down at the end of the month.
I am appreciative of everyone's warm welcome, we are so happy to be getting on our way!

Good luck. We drove down from Tacoma, Wa in July. It was a long drive. It took us 8 days to drive, but we took our time and enjoyed the trip. We had no problems along the way and I thank God for that. Have a safe trip.

Congrats. You picked the perfect time to move here permanently -- not too hot to unpack and get settled; time enough to get used to Florida "winters" (it really can get cold here but it's a different cold from the West Coast); lots of fun activities for the holidays. Enjoy your drive cross-country and hope to see you around.

Biggest change will be (1) lack of hills and mountains, (2) rain comes in buckets, not a steady mist, and (3) no I-5 traffic jams. Oh yeah, no snow.

Welcome. You'll love it. Trade in flannel shirts for t-shirts. You won't have to wear wool socks with your Birkenstock sandals.

If I'm not mistaken........I believe she moved here one year ago. Not this season.
I'm pretty sure this is a very old thread......
