We visited twice and fell deeper in love with TV after each visit and we have now decided to rent in TV for at least one year to help us decide on which village we really want to live in. We are coming next week to look at houses in Virginia Trace, Mallory Square and Largo. Does anyone have any idea which one of these is the better location and what age groups in general reside in those particular villages?

Village07's reasonable answer made me realize I've been bad again. I apologize for being cheeky. I didn't realize Ron it was your first post. Welcome!! Please live in Hadley. I am the only old person there.

Ron....those 3 areas are pretty similar. VaTrace is a little closer to Lake Sumter town square; Mallory a little hillier and little more "east" of center; Largo straight down Canal St and a relatively smaller village. All have great access to golf courses and amenities and will have similar average age of residents since they were settled in the 2004-2007 timeframe. I would say, in those areas, you'll find a lot of folks in their 50s and 60s (and younger and older). As you'll read in other threads, age is a state of mind here, not a calendar thing.

This is an extremely wise way to begin this transition.... within a few months you'll be able to answer all the questions you've raised.

We had 3 and were serious about buying. Call and tell the agent you would like to visit again. If you are serious buyers they will know and set something up. You may not get all the extras but you should get some. Come in the off season when there are not as many visits being made (April thru December). We also rented a few times in between lifestyles and always contacted our agent on those visits.

Looks like everyone has answered most of your questions, so I'll just throw this one in:

I think you're looking to visit Juniper Springs. It's north of The Villages in the Ocala National Forest and not too far. Just Google 'Juniper Springs, FL" for more info.
