Xfinity Home and ADT have outdoor camera options, but you need to subscribe for their monitoring services. We have a Piper for indoor camera/security which works really well.

Security cameras, IMHO, are a facade, they don't stop anyone, all they do is help apprehend the culprit after the fact--a good audible alarm is a good deterrent and

the knowledge and the ability to defend yourself before he police arrive to take notes &ask questions is very important.

Remember law enforcement , usually arrives after crime is commited

Feel free to post your response here or PM me. Thanks.
Do you want to have a monthly service fee or just the one time installation cost?

You can set up your own wifi system. Major problem will be access to electrical outlets.

You will want night vision cameras.

Do you want motion and or sound detection cameras that will send snap sots of what they see to your email account when sound or motion is detected?

Do you want to record video 24 hours a day?

Do you want to store the video at your home or offsite.

The above are some things for you to consider.

I can't tell you what to use, but I can tell you what NOT to - stay away from FOSCAM completely- hard to set up, stop working for no reason, and no technical support at all - well there is but they take forever to get ahold of and then don't know anything. STAY AWAY.

There are many options when it comes to home security cameras. First you need to ask yourself a few questions...
1. What is the goal of the cameras? {Outdoor Coverage? Watch Pets, Deliveries ETC}
2. What level of quality is acceptable to you? {Cameras are available from $20 - $5,000 and as expected there is a huge difference between them}
3. Do you want to watch live video and/or recorded video/audio?
4. Buy the recorder equipment or pay a monthly fee?

At GuardMe we are here to be used as a resource to The Villages community to answer any security questions you may have.

Remember, being armed at home only works when you ARE AT home ... And when the intruder gets INTO the home.

A good monitored system such as ADT will keep the intruder OUT even when you are not at home. The 165 db alarm both inside and outside the house will scare off an intruder and your home is safe. No burglar will stick around to ransack with the alarm horn blaring inside and outside and knowing the police have been notified.

Hete are tw suggestion:
Arlo by Netgear. Totally wireless and eazy to set u.

oCO powered by. IVideon. Much less expensive than Arlo and superb quality. EZ set up. Cams are only $79 each. No fee for basic service. View cams on your smartphone or iPad or computer.
I own an Arlo sys but replacing batteries will get expensive. Just installed two of the iVideon cams. I think you can even get them at Home Depot.

I have two foscam cameras, one inside and one out. I also paid $79.00 for up to four camera cloud recording. Motion sets recording after 5 seconds and the inside unit also has audio. I will have a picture and voice record of the burglar. No alarm, but I do have signs on doors telling all that they are on camera. But you also need to have internet on all the time, and wired power, even thought the signal is wireless to the modem and Internet..

The idea is to keep intruders OUT of the house. That is the thought behind installing a monitored alarm system. It can be armed when you are at home or when you are away.

We have a lot of cameras in our neighborhood. From many different sources.

When it comes to security, it is wise to keep your methods to yourself.
