Default Selling gold? Must read!!!

I always thought I was getting the best price for my gold jewelry!!

Until I decided to check out CASH 4 GOLD located 13749 US 441 Coconut building in front of Bealls--Lowes Cracker Barrel etc: A villager owns the company--I got twice as much money for my things than Empire Estates offered me--they come to the Waterfront Inn once a month--No more dealing with them--I am now a Cash 4 Gold client--give them a try--The also buy sterling silver and some vintage costume jewelry!

Susan

Nearly all gold jewelry is bought "by the ounce", regardless of how nice you think the piece is, or what memories it holds for you, so before going to any of these places be sure to weigh your jewelry and check the latest price for an ounce of gold, and that will give you a rough idea of what you should expect to receive for it.

Remember that gold comes in different degrees of purity - with 24 carat being the highest - so you'll need to factor this in too.

There are several other buyers of gold in TV area. I think selling to someone that has a location and is here every day, would be better to sell to than someone stopping for a few days and then leaving. Besides, isn't better to support our local business people?

I have supported the local jewelers as well--got quote from them on several occasions--same thing they were paying less than Empire--best thing to do is check for yourself!

Susan
We too sold some scrap gold jewelry to this man at CASH 4 GOLD. We found him to be honest and very fair.

Actually the gold is sold by the gram.. A person would have to have a very good scales to measure gold by the ounce.

but s/he would need even better scales to measure gold by the gram, since one gram is approx. one thirtieth of an ounce

Most decent digital kitchen scales these days measure in ounces and grams. Even if they're not 100% perfect, they would give a good ballpark figure to go on.

I've always used Coast to Coast in Southern Trace Shopping Center. I'll have to check this place for silver too.

I always sell my gold or silver on ebay, you will get much closer to the market value than any cash for gold or pawn shop.

Default I don't know any professional who weighs in grams....

Gold is also weighed (more often than not) in penny weights (DWT). There is a big difference in weighing in grams, ounces and penny weights.
