I went into a small shoe store the other day, had forgotten my mask in the car. The sales clerk said "Are you wearing a mask?" Duh. It felt rude but I went and got my mask. LOL, I guess not everyone can be eloquent when making a request.

Default Mask

I have been at the Sharon Morse facility for 30 straight week days and masks have been provided for those who do not have one. Not many come without, but have seen several. Unless they had run out when you were there.

The Villages ought to be Ashamed & Embarrassed by this!!!

Last time I was at the Sharon Morse bldg, the sign on the door said masks requested or required although I believe it should say required. I really dislike going to the Sharon Morse and avoid it whenever I can

I am no longer driving because of the Villages Hospital wanted all volunteers to sign a document exempting the U of F The Villages from any type of lawsuit or litigation from the volunteers. I had the document looked at by a lawyer friend and he told me that if I signed, I was foregoing all my rights and was crazy to sign it. No longer volunteering there. There is not enough parking at Sharon Morris building and the Villages that own it don’t seem to care. By the way in my 75 years in this Earth, I have never filed a suit, or gone to court on one.
Thank you for clearing that up with facts. Too many people make assumptions and generalizations.

Don't be negative and always looking for faults... we are all elderly.

I live far closer to the mammogram facility at Lake Sumter but choose to go to the one at the Sharon Morse. We have been treated kindly and equally by the staff at both places, but my daughter and I love the folks at the Sharon Morse. After you have the test if you look at them imploringly, not saying a word, if everything is fine, they smile and wink. Always a relief.

Japan has almost no problems with CV. They have a citizenry that understands medical science. They are smart enough to have at least 95% compliance with mask wearing. It is the same in Australia, New Zealand, and S. Korea. The US is a dumb, science-denying country. We are OUR own problem. Look around you and you will see less than 50% mask useage here in TV Land. And we are the older population that will pay with our LIVES in greater numbers. The US had a 15% increase in CV cases in the last 10 days. It will keep getting worse. There is no vaccine riding in on some white horse. Anyway, it is known that masks are MORE effective than the vaccine will be when it finally gets here, which could be years from now. Trust medical science and NOT what you hear on select TV channels.

Well give yourself a pat on the back. And while you're at it add some complaining about others to raise your pedestal a little higher.

It IS NOT “The Villages” responsibility to provide masks for people who are to lazy to comply.
In addition, if every place had reserve masks on hand, people would never remember and would sponge off the shops, offices, and resturants. It is not their responsibility, it is ours.....all of ours. Carry extra masks in your car and golf cart....then if you see someone who actually forgot, you can be that generous and helpful Villager and give them one of yours.

This nice Elderly lady was not protesting anything! She genuinely forgot her mask. She attempted to use a tissue.. not permitted. All she wanted to do was get to the 2nd floor to hopefully locate her husband at his appt. No one was expecting or asking or wanting it to be Assisted Living.
Bravo to you for keeping a pack of disposable masks in your car & golf cart.. obviously this nice lady doesn’t and she needed one!
I didn’t ask her if she drove....what is your point regarding that? She stated she had dropped her husband at the front door.. when I encountered her, she was struggling, had walked using her walker from a distant parking spot. Like I stated, no compassion!

Unfortunately you did not include this information in your original post, it changes everything and I am sure you would not have received negative posts had we been aware of what she was going through.

I, too, know what it is like to search the area for a parking spot and then have to slog over to the Sharon in the heat and I do it on two good legs, not a walker. She was indeed treated shabbily.
