Default Bokwa Dance

Okay you Dancing Queens..and Kings....Have you heard of Bokwa Dance?

I admit I was born with two left feet. I would love to dance but I don't have it in my genes. I'll get up on the dance floor and jump around but I have no idea what I'm doing. Well....maybe I'm good at doing the YMCA or the Macarena but forget everything else. I've stepped on too many guy's toes in my life...soooo embarrassing!

A few days ago, I saw a piece on TV about Bokwa dance. You dance to letters and numbers on the floor. The instructor will yell out the numbers or letters and you pretend to see them on the floor. I thought, "Hmmmm.....even I could handle that!" It looked like FUN! And since I officially declared this year as "THE YEAR OF THE FUN" (Chinese style, natch), I thought I'd try this.

Do they have Bokwa classes in TV? Anyone heard of it?

Just posting this so you can see the link.

Very interesting. It almost looks like the electric slide. A very good cardio workout.

Looks like a combination of Jazzercise and line dancing.

Default Bokwa Update

I have a friend from the Aquatic Center who teaches dance. I mentioned Bokwa to her a few days ago and she didn't know about it. This morning, she told me she has researched it and will teach it. I said, "Cindy, you know I have two left feet but I can count to 10 and I've finally mastered my ABC's....so can I be your first student?" She said, "Karen, it sounds like a plan". She said there are many different levels. I will start at kindergarten.

It does look like FUN! As I've said, I have officially declared this as the Chinese "Year of the Fun".....and I am seriously considering changing it to "The DECADE of the Fun"! Bokwa....here comes the tall blond with two left feet!

They offer this at my local YMCA. I am going to try it next week. Everyone has been saying how much fun it is.

I saw the same TV episode on a morning show. Really love the idea. I think BOKWA is exercise and a lot like Zumba. I was very interested but I don't think anything is available in TV yet.

Unfortunately, TV does not have a Y anywhere close. We have a Y in Illinois with a new state of the art facility nearby and their rates are very reasonable. We will have to see if this new dance is on the list of classes.
