Default Another stormy afternoon....

Here we go again... thunder, lightening, bam, bam, bam.... every afternoon, you could set your clock on it. Today it clouded over around 1pm and the storm started a few minutes ago. Every day, between 2 and 5pm, the sky darkens, the booms start and my dog runs under the tables to hide.

On the other side of the fence, the grass is beautifully green, the flowers are so colorful and I'm loving my afternoon naps... LOL....

Oh well, it could be worse, huh.

Please send some rain up north. The Chicago area and all of Illinois, and most of the Midwest (think of the farmers), really need the rain.

Oh, the poor puppy.... Think a thunder shirt might help? I'm either going to get a thunder shirt for myself or start singing the Thunder Buddy song....

Ah, a nap, sounds delightful....enjoy!

Yup...it's summer in FL and it's the rainy season! First year we were here had a chat with a local (born/raised in FL) who told me that you can always bank on it. Nice in the mornings and rain (sometime) in the afternoon.

Schaumburger: Here in Central Illinois we are on water restrictions. The drought is getting very serious. Some of the farmers say they have lost half of their corn and soybean crops. This means higher food prices in the next few months. Our yards look like a desert and the golf courses are beginning to look like goat ranches. Yes, send some of that rain this way!!

Yes. Back to two days/week, but with the almost daily rain, my system doesn't go on.

Almost every night the news in Chicago features something about the drought, and all reports say the counties south of the Chicago are not in good shape. From what it sounds like, the corn crop is already severely affected, and if no significant rain falls soon, the soybean crop will also be severely affected.

I know what you mean. It seems like "artificial cuddling" - when real cuddling is free and fun!

Kathie, our Jean Luc ALWAYS wanted to wear his sweater. Once we put it on him, we left it to the groomer to take it off, because Jean Luc would growl & actually try to bite us if we tried to remove his sweater. He LOVED wearing his sweater! We called it his security blankie. Without it, he was a nervous wreck. With it, he was Handsome Super Dog! He was a chubby little guy, and his sweater was very snug. Do you have a sweater you could try?

Now somebody is making big bucks off 'The Jean Luc Snug Sweater Handsome Super Dog' remedy. Try a snug sweater to see if you think the Thunder Shirt could help. The only difference I can see is that it would be a lot easier to remove the Thunder Shirt.
