Could only manage 27 holes today due to heat. Thankfully the afternoon rain skirted TDS this afternoon.

More torrential rains in Sabal Chase area today. This morning when I checked they were saying it would be drier today than the past 4 days or so....maybe tomorrow! Have to admit everything is nice and green though, but I miss driving my golf cart. Driving it through the type rains we've been having would not be fun!!!!! Right now things look pretty good for the rest of the evening. No where I need to go but maybe I'll just go out for a ride.

That's what we thought, so my neighbor and I headed up to Palmer for a 12:28 tee time at Laurel Valley. I couldn't believe it, just a twosome, no one else signed up to play. Things were a little slow since we were behind a foursome. It was hot but otherwise nice until about the 8th hole when the sky started getting a little dark. We finished the 9th hole about 2:30 and were headed over to Riley for the back nine.

It was getting much darker and as we rounded the club house the thunder started getting closer. The last three times out we've been caught in the rain, twice at Bonifay but we finished and before that at Glenview we got a rain check for the back nine. Today was no different, I said to my neighbor why don't we get a rain check.

As soon as we pulled out of the club house lot and headed down Buena Vista it started to pour the worse I've seen here in a year. We didn't even stop to put the sides down. Going down Baileys Trail and then St. Charles in the cart lane every car that passed us made it seem like we were at the water park. Finally got home about 3:00 and I never saw my cart so wet. It was still wet at 6:00 when I started to dry it off. Just another day at the golf course in TV's.

We would gladly send you our rain from Vermont if we could.....
All of the rain is making up for the lack of snow last winter.

However, it is also coming up to the August 28 1st anniversary of Tropical Storm Irene whose flooding inundated Vermont's bridges, roads, barns, homes, etc.....as well as neighboring New York State.........

The entire spine of the Green Mountains or middle of our state was cut off (various villages and small towns) by destroyed bridges and roads.
This summer we saw massive rebuilding as we drove north. Even our western side of the state had big gouges out of highways. Water can do a lot of damage. We had tons of rainfall that weekend last August.

Truthfully, we've never seen so much constant RAIN which in turn brings heavy humidity and mugginess. It poured again last night as it did a vew days ago and also last weekend........very rainy up here. I feel sorry for all of the brides who plan their outdoor weddings under tents or by covered bridges in the great outdoors........not the year for it at all.

People can argue against global warming but there most definitely is a climate change that we've been experiencing for a long number of years up here.

When we lived in Florida, there always was a "very predictable" timewise thunderstorm DAILY all summer long. On the east coast it was in the afternoon hours......but as soon as it began, it was over and the sun would pop out again..........it tended to cool things down.

When we were in TV last autumn, the rain was so HEAVY and visibility pretty bad..........but we noticed how great the sewers and gutters were performing.......as we made our way back from an early breakfast.
