edj had mentioned driving down to Cape Canaveral to view the shuttle launch on the 31st. Unfortunately, he has decided to try for a later date. For personal reasons, I really want to go on the 31st (August is just too dang hot being one of them!).

So, if you're interested in caravaning down to the launch for a tailgate party and then watching the shuttle go bye-bye on the 31st of May, shout out.

From some research, I found that Space View Park in Titusville would be a good spot to eat and then watch the shuttle (they even have picnic areas).

Hope a few of you still want to go see this launch.

I want to go!!! Unfortunately, I'll be in Connecticut, so please take some pictures and share them with us, OK?

We drove over to the Cape for the December launch, and as soon as we pulled into the parking lot we got a call that the launch had been scrubbed. ??? No matter. We met up wth some aerospace friends and had lunch on the pier and then did some shopping at Ron Jon's. :2cool:

Great idea, Redwitch!! If we were there, I'd go. (Will be heading back to MN on the 30th) A few years ago we watched a launch, from the beach behind RonJons. It was great fun! I hope you get a group to go.
