This stuff is scary. Reading comments people are making on social media, some are saying it's Because the villages is over building and some say the water problem?? I have no experience in these fields of expertise so throw it out for comments, discussion. All I know is I'm getting a bit nervous with the AMT lately in Fla???

The good news is the probability of your home being directly impacted is very low. There are a few instances per year but that is spread over 57,000 homes. Of course, that is of little comfort if you are one of the unfortunate few. The odds are probably not all that much different than a lightning strike - there seems to be a few lightning strikes per year.

However, your link says sinkhole damage must include damage to the foundation. I just know that a house has to be condemned in order to qualify for the catastrophic coverage.
Read the article.

They already said yesterday his insurance appraiser was on site. If the insurance company doesn't step in now and provide professional help, they'll be buying a whole new house. Two years ago a huge sink hole opened up between two homes in Pennecamp on the fairway to Cane Garden Jacaranda hole #7. The homes appear to be fairly intact but the hole was much larger than this one. Their insurer had a company pumping in tons of concrete into the hole in no time and apparently saved the homes from further destruction.

I remember this one in Belvedere as the nice woman who rescued by dog Sport lived next door to one of the houses that had this sink hole. She moved to VA a while after that. At least, I believe this is what they are talking about here.

The current sinkhole in the villages actually has two more baby sinkholes on adjoining lots. Wonder if it's one big sinkhole.

There has been a lot of helicopter noise today. I'm wondering if the sink hole is getting bigger? Any news reports? I don't get local news channels.

I was just over there. The sirens from EMS were not going to the sinkhole location. 2 news crews are there, but nobody else is around doing any work or investigation. News crew said hole is getting bigger, but who knows.

Thanks for the update!! The helicopter was just hovering over the area so I figured it had to be connected to the sink hole. Probably just getting more footage for the five o'clock news!!

USAA does insure my house and it includes Sinkhole insurance, both kinds?

NO. It is not overbuilding. And this area is not nearly as sinkhole prone as those near Tampa. Read here;
