If the morbidity for seniors is a lot higher than the younger population it’s safe to assume that most of the celebrants you saw were seniors.

I wonder how they would respond if offered a hat with five chips in it — four saying “free dinner for you and your party” and the fifth saying “you die”? How many do you think would play the game? Because those are pretty close to the real odds if a senior gets infected.

By the way, the CDC’s current definition of “senior” for the purpose of calculating morbidity rates for the coronavirus is age 50 and above.
So, you are saying the mortality rate is 20%. Really? The mortality rate for Lake County is way under that. We have 367,000 people in Lake County. Now, how many have died? How many are confirmed positive? Who really knows how many have had it and didn't even know it? Exactly! No one know how many have had it! It is your perogative to stay home.

More stunning is the fact that people are risking their lives to be at Gators

I never answer these but I'm getting tired of all this complaining and yes I know I'm not going to change the way this person thinks but seriously was that hurting you!!! can't everyone just worry about themselves and leave it to other people to worry for their selves.

A contribution to a “news” outlet with a clear political agenda by an unnamed “journalist”.

Villagers getting dinner or drinks at the square are hardly protesting “the lockdown”.

You might want to rethink that 20% number.

Covid 19 death rate percentages by age: (by those with confirmed cases)

80 + 21.9%
70-79 8%
60-69 3.6%
50-59 1.3%
40-49 0.4%
30-39 0.2%
20-29 0.2%
10-19 0.2%
<10 0.001

50% of all Covid 19 deaths appear to be coming from nursing homes (see my previous thread) If you are 50 to 69, living in single family home, your chances of dying are pretty small. The 21.9% number for those over 80 years is probably 80-90% coming from nursing homes.

We also drove by--it was like a flashback to 2018--NO social distancing or masks--SCARY--won't be going to anyplace in Lake Sumter Landing unless I'm in the safety of my car

Default Watch It!

Highly recommend the Kevin James video, only 2 minutes or so, about social distancing! Good to have levity in these crazy times - his video about missing baseball is funny, too.

Guess you can't read?
Both journalist and news outlet are named.
With freedoms there are responsibilities.
Dinner and drinks?
Your right to spread a dangerous virus supersedes everyone else's right to remain safe from contagion?

Respinning what I said into that tired saw is a little silly.

Don’t preach to me about responsibilities. As far as I know, expressing an opinion is still allowed.

As far as freedom goes, feel free to be as paranoid as you like and stay home for as long as you like.
