As a driver, it is your responsibility to be aware. When you encounter a slow driver, pass when safe to do so, or wait until the cart makes a turn.

Relax! The few minutes of waiting will not ruin your day. Turn on your favorite music, enjoy the good weather, have a great conversation with the one seated beside you, execute a plan B, etc. Getting your ire up will not benefit anyone. Especially, you.
Perhaps put up a poll and see how many agree with that.

You may be surprised with the poll results. The vast majority of Villagers are sympathetic to their fellow seniors. They understand that some have health issues or deteriorating motor skills. Most Villagers also understand that there are many newbies. They comprehend the person in front of them may be searching for directions. Giving these individuals a few minutes of your time is a no brainer. Preventing accidents is the primary goal. Getting upset that an elderly driver or a newbie is holding up your tee time is never a good idea.

I guess I am not part of the vast majority of Villagers. I find the bar for driving so low that expecting the driver in front of me to be able to drive at the speed limit to not be excessive. Driving the speed limit is the LEAST you should be able to do I you are behind the wheel of a motor vehicle.

If you are behind the wheel of a motor vehicle, Yes! However, you should be aware of those who live in your community. Many have had their license to operate a motor vehicle revoked due to health issues or age. Instead, they drive golf carts. As a driver, you should be aware and cautious. Is it right that these individuals are operating golf carts? No! But, they do!

What?!!! The paths were literally designed for speeds no higher than 20 mph. That is the maximum, not the minimum. If “driving the speed limit is the least you should be able to do I [sic] you are behind the wheel of a motor vehicle” as you stated, then how fast do you recommend more advanced golf cart drivers drive? 30 mph? These paths are not golf cart highways, they are for pedestrians, skaters, scooters, bicycles mobility devices and golf carts. And no, they are not obligated to jump out of the way when they see carts bearing down upon them.

This 😉👆

Many of you sound like a bunch of old boomers with no humor and a lot of anger. Hopefully possible new TV residents that are researching this wonderful community understand this forum is full of negative people.

Anyone who has had their driver's license revoked due to health or age ALSO lacks the necessary skills to operate a golf cart. Therefore THEY are the problem.

There seems to be some non-sequitur responses to posts on this thread. The topic is SLOW GOLF CARTS, yet many are posting about speeding golf carts. THEY ARE NOT THE SAME THING. My cart is lucky to get to 20.5 mph downhill and downwind, so I really don't have a dog in this fight. But if someone wants to jack their cart up to 25 and pass me, I don't care---they pass and they're gone and I don't have to deal with them. It's the driver going 10,12,14 that 15 people are stuck behind and may not get a clear opportunity to safely pass that creates a problem and they need to pull over
