A problem with so many things. I believe at one time golf carts were smaller.
It would be quite expensive to widen the bridge. What would be wide enough?
All know, OR SHOULD KNOW to drive carefully.

Agreed, "SL GC's" like regular GC's will go above 25mph (my first SL went 30 and my 2nd one 28 max) however there is no way that an Atomic can go above 38mph to pass you so not sure what you were seeing. I can exceed 30 by a couple free rolling down the O'Dell hill with my foot off the accelerator! It's just not mechanically or electrically possible to go over 38 on a straightaway. . . I have been on the websites of the Chinese shops who make them and I can tell you they can't. No knowledge on the GEM cars so I couldn't say but even those I highly doubt can go that fast. Are you sure it wasn't a "SMART" (by Mercedes) you may have seen? They look virtually identical to some of the newer Atomics and can easily be mistaken. There are also a couple 3-wheel motorcycles I have seen around that have shells on them that look like some sort of weird new electric vehicle. Something like this: Arcimoto partnership to build fastest-tilting 3-wheeled electric motorcycle

"Passing you driving 38" just doesn't seem possible for one of the electric GC's (SL or otherwise) around here. Looking at my speedometer which is in KM it looks faster than it goes.

Thank you, but I never posted that it was an "Atomic" cart.
I'm also pretty sure I know how to read my speedometer
I'm not sure what type of cart it was, but it was NOT enclosed and had golf clubs on the back.
So, if you were there, which you weren't, you would change your mind about "Passing you driving 38" just doesn't seem possible for one of the electric GC's (SL or otherwise) around here." (Unless you think I'm prone to hallucinations)

The 2 door atomic look weird on the cart path. The new candy apple red we saw last week was very striking.

Since 2007 have not noticed as many elaborate golf carts as the fire truck, 18wheeler, and tow truck. So guess the Atomic can be a newer version of dressing up the body of a cart.

The 4 door, does give you pause when you see it coming on the cart path, but haven’t noticed one on the course’s.

Still the doors have to be a pain playing golf. At least the yesteryears doors can come off.

I've actually seen people walking on that bridge. I know it is permitted but especially in high snowbird season you'd have to have a death wish to do that.

I've seen them near my area. They're actually pretty cool. Out of habit I look at the driver to see if a clown is driving.

Wouldn't know if you were hallucinating or not, you're the doctor and allegedly having golf clubs doesn't change my opinion of what you "saw". If a street legal golf cart PASSED YOU when you were driving 38mph which would mean they would have been going probably 50mph. Sorry, as "the internet says (not me)" pictures or it didn't happen. I never said it was an Atomic but was using that as an example. If someone geared a (for example) Yamahamama to go that fast it would probably burn up before it hit 40. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree so please don't take it personally and get all insulted.

I don't golf so I couldn't say from experience, however a friend who also has an Atomic like mine does play golf and he says while it is a bit of a PITA with the doors, the air-conditioning, when it's 95 and humid was well worth the inconvenience.

ALLEGEDLY
I can use large fonts also.
Simply means "no proof" so you shouldn't take it personally. This is "the internet" after all and we know that everything stated on the internet by all us folks hiding behind anonymous names is a fact.

al·leg·ed·ly
/əˈlejədlē/
adverb
used to convey that something is claimed to be the case or have taken place, although there is no proof.

But wait! Believe it or not, my bad, I saw it too, even uploaded a video.

I'll see your three and raise you one:

I swear it's true. About a year ago there was a long line near the top of the 441 bridge. When it was our turn to be at the peak of the bridge we saw the cause of all the Hub Bub. There was a Black or Blue F-150 at the base of the bridge making a left. The driver had everyone who thought they had seen it all in amazement. Really couldn't believe what we were looking at. No, I don't drink. It's 100% true.

I don't know, my friend. If I follow the previous poster correctly, it's only 100% ALLEDGEDLY true (raised him one more)

There is someone in the Villages that has a golf cart that has a dune buggy body on it, he belongs to the Villages Golf Cart Club.
