I am guessing you mean an entertainment fee, and yes, we have done this for special events, and this was published well before the event and was voluntary.

We pay a fee for those events where entertainment has been hired. The cost of the entertainment (and occasionally food) is divided among the number of tickets sold. Reasonable.

Unless it could be clearly explained what the money is going towards, I do not believe I would pay an "entertainment" fee simply to belong to a social club.

We belong to a few clubs whene the annual fee is only $10.

They do have events whenre there is a nominal charge, but food/dessert/drinks are usually provided. No biggie...

I also belong to some where there is no charge.

Either way, is fine by me...

We belong to a wide range of social clubs.

Dues runs $ 10 to 15 pp.

Some clubs will have monthly meeting with entertainment and dinner and you pay for it.

Others will have bring your own dessert and entertainment which can come out of dues or perhaps additional charge.

When you pay extra you get better entertainment we have found.

One club will charge $ 30 or so pp for the entertainment and will supply a nice dessert. Entertainment will be excellent.

One gets what one pays for
