More people will die from the lockdown than from covid. Who's selfish? People are not getting cancer treatments, heart surgeries, etc. All surgeries which are not emergency are "elective". Those have all been cancelled. Don't those peoples' lives count for something? All you retirees who don't work, you're not that inconvenienced. But there are people who spent their whole life building a business, they're wiped out. Have you seen the food lines? 30,000,000 people are out or work. 30 million! Do you know what suffering that entrails? Meanwhile, the deaths from covid are less than some previous flu seasons. Try to look at a situation from other people's perspectives.

Every year we lose tens of thousands to a virus (FLU) that we can get a shot for and we have gone on with our lives. Govt restricting your movements by force is not the way this Country was established. Stay in, have your food and products delevered to you. , watch televison or knit all day, what ever your doing currently under the restrictions, but let us do whatwe want to do.

the pools are each being modified with one-way arrows, etc.... some are most likely due for a power washing...it's no like all they have to do is just go around unlocking the gates

Each person should be provided with options, and be able to exercise those options that work for him/her. Open the fields, the pools, the pickle ball courts. Those who want to refrain from activities, no one is stopping you from exercising the right to protect yourself by staying away from people who participate, getting your goods shipped and staying in. And I celebrate your choice. Those who want to participate in activities, no one should stop you from exercising the right to engage in those activities that fuel you. And I celebrate your choice. Bottom line, let's allow people to make choices.

trying to compare the world that we live in today to what the world was like when this country was established is a flawed basis for your argument....

Which "liberal talking heads"? This is your president* imposing the stay at home guidelines. Go out and enjoy yourself!

okay, I can go along with what you are saying....but let's meet each other half way...let's ask the risk takers to display a large letter "R" on front and back of their shirt so that we know who they are and can practice social distancing from them

Long time listener, first time caller.
I agree in part, with the OP.
However, I'm also getting very sick and tired of being judged for going out and getting on with my life. I get dirty looks, rude comments and more when I go to the store because I'm not wearing a mask. I do not wear this garb because I already had covid and have had an FDA approved antibody test showing that I have the antibodies.
Before you judge people, think about what you DON'T know about them. Maybe if everyone just worried about themselves, we'd have a more harmonious community.

nice post...but unfortunately I suspect that the individual that you are directing your thoughts to has already made up their mind...he's being 'wronged' and is acting out like any 2 or 3 year old child will do when they don't get their way

How is your softball helping the economy? The hospitals and orthopedic clinics are already open.

[QUOTE=Davect;1756549]I agree completely with all that Artar said above. The liberal media has made this appear much worse than it is. Every death we have now is attributed to the Corona Virus. I would like to see the total death statistics for March and April 2019 compared to 2020.
I believe the increase in 2020 is far smaller than the numbers they are posting.”

Data from the CDC website: 2019 deaths by month in Florida

January 18,371
February 16,523
March. 18,523
April 17,954

Total: 71,773

Florida Dept. Of Health stats as of this morning:

Total COV-ID19 deaths in Florida to date: 1,268.

point taken....however, no one really knows for certain how long the antibodies will stay in your system and that you can't get the virus a second time...or that you can't still be a carrier at this point

maintaining social distancing and conforming to the new norms when in stores, at the squares, etc. will endear you to others
