Uberschaf is right on the conversion cost. It was worth it me to me because I have a customized cart with extra leg room that I can drive safely. I inquired at the time about a new cart with the Lithium Ion Power Cells and was told it would be starting at about 13K. To the best of my knowledge there are only a few of these kind of in The Villages so far.
Another option that a poster suggested would be to pick up and older electric cart fairly cheap and then have it converted.

Before you head in that direction, read this; Note the sector under degradation. Also, if you are only trying to protect the environment, read it twice. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium-ion_battery

I have a 2009 Club Car electric (48v). With a full charge, and brand new batteries, I can go from Country Club Hills to Brownwood, drive around down there for an hour or so and get back (over the bridge) with no problem. Even 1 1/2 year old batteries I can go there and back with no problem. I'll try it again with 2 year old batteries.

I have two, work great they can easily do over 70 miles, not plugged in for years. Tried selling them here for about $800, way too much resistance. If there was interest and anyone wanted to do a partnership biz I'm still game. . |
