I have a Wisteria model and found the kitchen and dining/living room area to be very dark and gloomy as lower ceiling height and not as open floor plan as many homes. Had white quartz counters installed, white marble like tile and even painted cabinets white which helped lighten things up, but still not sunny or cheerful. Finally installed large solar tube in dining area and small solar tube over kitchen sink area and that made a huge difference, as now always sunny and cheerful in those areas. I admit it took awhile to stop trying to turn off kitchen lights, when they weren't on, as kitchen was so much lighter now with natural light. I also love the "night light" they give off at night if you take that inexpensive option. Solar tubes were definitely one of the best investments I've made in my home!!

We have 4 in our home. One in kitchen, one in hallway bathroom (very dark at night), two in living area. They're great. Get nightlight with them; battery easy to change.

I had Solar Guys put two in my living room and one in each shower. I LOVE them. Before, I always needed lights on to read in the living room. No more. They don’t heat up a room the way old style skylights do, and the filter out UV light, so the light doesn’t fade the furniture.

One bit of caution when planning a location for a tube; be sure to avoid a placement where a ceiling fan would interfere with the spread of light from the new tube. You do not want a shadow of fan blades on or constantly moving across walls, floor, or counter top.

It’s too bright! I have one in the kitchen and one in the bathroom. They say it doesn’t make it hotter, but it does. Both areas are hotter than other rooms where I can close the blinds. They are too bright. Off-season I love them. Next year I am covering those suckers up in the summer. If I had a choice I would not have them but they were in the home when we purchased home. IMHO

I like it as dark as possible when I watch a movie on TV in our living room. In my sister's home, that is impossible because of that bright light in the kitchen that floods the living room too. She has no way to "turn off" that light from the solar tube.
