We've lived here for 13 years, altho it sure doesn't seem that long. 95% of the people here are kind, generous, helpful and just all around great peeps. We have made some of the best friends anyone could ever have. My only regret is that we didn't meet them sooner.
We have lived all over the place, 18 +/- moves (this is our second house in TV). Unless life throws us a curve ball we're staying put here in TV.

The movie was a kids view and done as a college project. It merely reflected the view of one person about 4 people. Sad that everyone thinks this is about The Villages, it could have been anywhere and the kid got lucky because someone liked his film. That story could be told in any city or beach town or mountain in this USA. I never wasted my time on it after my son who is in his thirties watched it and said it was depressing and not anything like the life he sees here. He actually was here for a few months after he got out of college and found the characterization to be appropriate to people who are actual Floridians and not those who move to the south to retire.

Did you actually see the entire film? It was just a very small sampling of only a few people and in the end even the most “dissatisfied” character was enjoying herself and dancing at the evening shows.
Try and remember The Villages was just a hint many years ago of what it is today. It started with manufactured homes and a few courses. Just like times have changed very much since this movie so has the Villages.

It’s a story of humanity that could’ve been told in any city of over 100,000 people. He used The Villages because of contrast. It’s a great Indy film that has it’s place. I personally use it to discourage people I don’t like from moving here.

People are so sensitive about this movie. It was a true story about what? Three or four people? It didn't make The Villages look bad at all, unless you have a victim mentality.

I didn’t see the movie but there is a term called geographic transfer which is used to.describe people who move for many reasons such as depression, divorce , alcoholism is a big one ,they think if they move or keep moving things will get better but they usually don’t . The poster who said that using the villages background with all the good things was to show how some people struggle even in a wonderful place like this .I do wonder more about people who see an on screen credit for Soros a man who invests generously in independent films and sees a conspiracy of a political hit job against Republicans in the villages. Again I have not seen the movie many people I know who saw it thought the villages looked like a wonderful place and this was a story of 4 people who could be living anywhere
