On the other end of the scale are 'The Villagers Newcomers'. They are both retired school teachers. Every video includes both of them. Their videos have the balance of a couples perspective. I am a subscriber of both Skip Smith's and The Villages Newcomers' You Tube channels. I enjoy watching both channels and have received valuable information from both channels. Skip and his wife Sue have owned homes in The Villages for quite a few years now, and the Villages Newcomers (Jerry and Linda) bought their home 13 months ago.

For those considering moving to The Villages, both channels are worth a look.

Could not agree more on this one! We also are anticipating the move soon and find his videos a wealth of info. He tells it like it is, no sugar coating. Good, bad and ugly. So appreciate the "it is what it is" attitude in helping us glean info.

I agree with most of the advice given ( except for "Go Blue" guy. GO GREEN!!) If you have never owned a second home, it can be a bit daunting but the basics are still the basics. We moved from MI 3 1/2 years ago after one visit to TV. On that visit, we found a lot, put down the deposit and had our new home in 90 days! Never looked back.

You will need to plan for termite prevention with one of the local companies like Dean's or Massey. Make sure your home policy contains coverage for sinkhole and hurricane - the likelihood of either being an issue is slim but it pays to be covered. Your choice whether you want to maintain your yard yourself or hire it out. Just understand that things grow year round here. TV is a great place. Welcome!
