Thanks for mentioning Club E - Epic - Dance. It's for younguns of all ages. Next one is Jan 18 6:30 Lake Miona Rec Center. Come in out of the cold. See my or the Club E Fb pg for more details. Reservations freeda@lifeboost.com -
I thought only my fellow native Kentuckians knew the term 'younguns'.

I'm under 60, not retired, and live north of Spanish Springs. I don't think it's that they act "ancient"; it's probably more that they lean introverted or are looking for a slower, quieter pace of life. I have zero interest the town squares, I don't drink, and have no interest in parties or big social gatherings. I would much prefer sitting in a fishing boat somewhere with a buddy or two. I am still very active but in the fitness sense. Probably the only reason I even bought a place in The villages was because of how beautiful the grounds are, how quiet it is where I am at, the awesome sport pools for lap swimming, and the multi modal paths for biking.

I like that the neighborhoods are quiet but the option is there for people who like big social gatherings and parties. They can use the rec centers, join clubs, and go down to the town squares.

If the quietness up here ever disappeared, I'd probably sell and move someplace else.

Different strokes for different folks I guess...

Us southerners don’t know what a young in is. Do you mean young’uns?

Young folks seem to think that this is a resort for their vacations. Not to mention those Air B&Bs that should be banned from the Villages (which is another subject).
I can tell you from first hand experience that most of the dope smoking in the villages is done by people Iike myself ,although no heavy metal music ,I prefer Miles Davis,( starting smoking as a teenager and still at it in my mid 80’s ) I go the gym everyday ,out to dinner 4or 5 nights a week and still love going to the mall to shop for clothes that I really don’t need lol

I was going to recommend some Facebook and Meetup groups specifically for "young'uns" but your profile on TOTV says you are 63 so you are disqualified.

Actually, most of the spoiled brats that live with their parents are in the southern part of the villages. Do yourself a favor and read the paper.

Yes, there are driveway parties and also party-like get-to-gethers for football games.

A while back someone had a good local band play in their back yard by Paradise Lake. That had a lot of visitors looking to party.

Welcome and throw the party. It should be more interesting than the garage sales in the area.

I can't knock anyone that feels "young" at 63. They should keep up that great attitude. Some say attitude is everything.

Grumpy Old Person. You do realize that your parents said the same thing about you, right?
