Default Organizing a Reunion in The Villages

I am responsible for organizing a reunion for about 40 to 50 people that I worked with. Has anyone had any experience doing this here in The Villages. This would be a two day event late in January 2017. Would like to do a luncheon with social time on a Friday and golf for just a few on Sat morning. I jo now we can't do golf in TV. These will be retired firefighters and there wives from my home town. Thank in advance.

I was told this by a credible source. The Villages rec centers can be used for no charge as long as all attendees are Villagers but there is a charge if any are not.

Has anyone else heard the same thing? Makes sense.

Finding a free time is another issue too, I would imagine. Perhaps you could use a hotel on site?

I organized a reunion. Instead of the rec centers, I went to Tiera Del Sol. They gave me a great price all inclusive for the pasta buffet. We had most of the restaurant reserved. There were other folks there and entertainment. It was a great time! Our after party was at The Pub at Fiesta Bowl. I think we filled that place. They stayed open an extra hour for us. Many places will work with you and it was minimal work for me! Good luck planning! Enjoy your reunion!

Not sure if there is a charge if your guests all have guest passes. Guest with passes have almost all of the same privileges as residents.

Good luck with trying to get a rec center. I tried to get one for my club's Christmas party and was told that there are none available for over a year.

You can arrange special tours on the trolley for $50 a trolley. Each trolley will hold 19 or one holds 23.

Almost all of the people attending will not be Villagers. Thank you all very much for your input.

Dr. Boogie has me thinking perhaps I am wrong. Go to the director of one of the REGIONAL Recreations Centers, such as Laurel Manor, Seabreeze, Colony or Eisenhower and ask him or her what the rules are and the costs and the availability. Good luck and enjoy your time together.

I had a class reunion here in The Villages with about the same number of people that you will be having.

The Waterfront INN was very accommodating both in special rates for those that stayed there and on Saturday night we had reservations in their dining-room and ordered from the menu and they brought separate checks which kept the money simple.

On Friday night we gathered on Lake Sumter square for the entertainment.

If I were to do it all over again I would do it the same way. A good time was had by all.
