Assuming from the heat? I cannot imagine storing it other than the garage attic would hurt it? OP might simply need to do some indoor organization and throw out some stuff?

My wife sometimes tries to get me to stay in the garage next to the vacuum. She says that’s where dirtbags belong?

Our Dyson died in 7 months. When I returned to Costco the first question was the battery stored in the garage. We have a indoor battery storage for our Ego, Dyson and e-bikes.
Costco replaced with no issues, but said those kept in hot garage kills the batteries quicker.

Interesting. My first thought when reading this thread was overly high humidity was killing the vacuum. But now it could be overly high temps. I have 12 different types/companies of battery operated items and no issues.
One thing I have noticed is slight oxidation on some metals that are not coated in a protective coating like chrome, paint, powder, zinc, et cetera. The humidity down here in a garage with no air movement will place a layer of oxidation, enough to stop the electrical connection. The common denominator so far is Dyson and possibly a uncoated metal component within the electrical system. Before taking it in for repair or replacement, possibly look at the metal connections where the battery and charger connect. Clean and test. Just my 2 cents worth. |
