I closed the box sealed it, called Justine from Deans. She came in 20 minutes of my call. Identify the critters, as German, said they probably hitched a ride no passport required (her pun). She did however check the entire house drawers, nooks cabinets just in case. We had the pleasure of her experience for 12 years. Then we moved couldn’t bring her with us.

You should really move away from any type of plastic bags. Not only are they bad for the environment, they leach chemicals into any food that you store into them.
Don’t even get me started on the microwaveable heat and serve stuff (wrapped in plastic) that they sell in the stores. |

I have a cabinet in my garage and store these as well as canned food, dog food, etc. with no problems.

Because we rent our place to tenants a few months of the year, we keep a locked metal cabinet in our garage against one wall. We leave all that stuff inside it plus garbage bags, aerosol stuff, extra cleaning supplies, etc. The only thing that we never put inside it is any sort of food even if it's dry food or cans.

I've stored all my plastic bags in the garage for years, I don't use wax paper so I don't know what effect it would have on that. What I do not store in the garage is can goods, the humidity will cause them to rust. I don't know how much can stuff I've thrown out.

It’s routinely 100° in our garages in the summer if we drive in our hot cars and close the door. The melting point of aluminum is 1,221°. The softening point of Ziploc bags is 230°. Supposedly waxed paper has a melting point of 420°. I also keep extra toilet paper, paper towels, and Kleenex in the garage. I’ve seen a couple big roaches in the garage in two years, but they are the outside kind and seem befuddled and slow on a dry concrete floor. I just stomp them.
