Default Suggestions for donating dog essentials to a shelter

Unfortunately we just lost our 16 lb. female dog. We have beds, new bags of kibbles, cute sweaters and hats, shampoo, leashes etc. If someone is interested, i just purchased a 6-month supply of Advantage multi - the monthly medication for preventing heartworm and fleas etc.

I am interested in what shelters you would suggest and how best to get the stuff there. I am also aware that some food banks take dog food.

The dog shelter on 470 west of Sumterville could use most all of what you have.

The meds, shelters won't take. Same with opened dog food bags. Ask neighbors who have dogs if they need them. I gave the flea/tick meds I had to a neighbor who walks his two by daily. Then a month later we got a bigger puppy.

Sorry you lost your furry family member. Dog shelters would be happy to accommodate you. I would call first to see if anything like the meds they won't take. Good luck

You can contact Kathy Bork at Lost Pets of the Villages. I'm sure she will take them.
