Yep, Just got home to Malory after a long day of golf .... helicopter zipping around. No clue why, just strange to see/hear...

I don't know if this is a result of Code Red but if you have not signed up for it, go to your nearest fire station or someone said you can sign up on line. They will alert you when there is danger of any kind including severe weather. It is all done automatically. We would get alerts when we were snowbirds and back home.


There must be some real danger with so much police presence and a helicopter too. If he was heading east on Banberry in Amelia, he was heading out of The Villages. We will learn something soon I am sure, and I hope no one has been injured.

We did not sign up for any type of notification. I believe there is something called a reverse 911 that enables the police to call you.

A burglary suspect is in custody and another is being sought in a joint operation between the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, Lake County Sheriff’s Office and Lady Lake Police Department.

It appears there was a burglary in progress this afternoon south of the Village of Caroline, said Lt. Nehemiah Wolfe.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office helicopter had been in the air between 3:30 PM and 4:30 PM, searching for the second suspect.

The helicopter was hovering over County Road 466 in the general vicinity of the Haciendas of Mission Hills.

Law enforcement is conducting a search on the Lake-Sumter county line, looking for a burglary suspect.

Lake County deputies’ vehicles are on Cherry Lake Road, just outside the Villages as part of the search perimeter.

Dogs are on the ground aiding in the search.
