Default Guest Policy Question

Simple question, but we're new at all this stuff - I think and am hoping this is a simple one to answer.

We're moving into TV next week (11/30) and my 25 year old son is coming over from St. Pete to help out - do we need to register him somewhere to get a guest ID or something? Reason I ask is that when we were down last month renting a private home as guests, we were stopped while walking around a recreation/pool area and our ID's were checked. Do we need to stay with him at all times during his overnight visit?

Thanks for feedback, Bev & Gary

Your son only needs a guest pass if he plans to use any of the amenities.... rec centers, pools, golf courses. And, no, you don't have to escort him to any of these venues if he has a guest pass (and an accompanying photo ID like a drivers license).

If, however, you're going to keep him busy helping you unpack and setup house, then there is no reason to get him a guest pass.

Well if your son is nice enough to come up and help with the heavy lifting, why not take the time to go down and get him a guest ID so you can take him to the recreation center and enjoy a little time with him at the end of the day while he cools off in the pool. It’s a simple and doesn’t cost anything, then tell him to bring his trunks.

Default Link for online application

Here is the link to apply online for a guest ID.

https://gcs.thevillages.com/cgi-bin/gc100

You fiill in the info and designate which regional rec center you'd like to pick up at and they will have it there in a few days...Pick-up day will be provided at end of online registration.

It's a busy time with Thanksgiving, so plan accordingly. Just did it for our daughter for her Thanksiving visit and it was ready when it was supposed to be!!!

Great service.

Default Good Info - Thanks Folks

We'll definitely get him a guest ID as soon as we close on our house (11/30) and get our own ID's. Problem is he's coming on 12/1 to help unpack, and it sounds like a few days are needed to arrange this - we'll check with our TV realtor and closing agent to see if this might be arranged in advance.

Yankees....grrrrrrrrr....I'm a Sox fan!

Thanks,
Bev & Gary

You can also go directly to a regional rec center and obtain the IDs in person, while you wait. It may take a few mins but will def be faster than doing the online application.

Online is great when you have enough advance notice of visitors. Then, you go to the rec center and pickup the ready-to-go guest pass.

People in T.V. are accepting of all alternative life styles!!!

Maybe we should start a Yankee / Red Sox club...

All we need is a really good Seargent-at-Arms!!!!

Hey Tpop1,
We Yankee fans are tolerant of all - except Red Sox fans. One of my daughters married a great guy in all respects, except that he was a Sox fan. I later learned that his favorite player was Johnny Damon. I accepted him much easier once I knew that deep down inside he was a closet Yankee fan.

Default gotta get along...

Hey Bob,

Notice I didn't growl back at the Sox fan!

Coming from Connecticut, I had to be tolerant of Sox fans(some of my best friends are Sox fans,...it was half Yankee fans, 50% Red Sox fans and 10% Mets fans.

Had some key phrases to keep them humble:
  • 27 - 2 (at some points 26-0,25-0,24-0 you get the point!)
  • Bill Buckner
  • Grady Little
  • You traded who., ____blank________...(fill in the blank, Reggie Smith, Bernie Carbo, Carleton Fisk, Sparky Lyle, Roger Clemens????),
  • Who's your Daddy, Pedro,

Usually had leverage on my side except - 2004(gag) and 2007!

Actually, it's 27 to *6*. You're forgetting the World Championships that were won in 1903, 1912, 1915, 1916 and 1918.

...just trying to be accurate

It's 2-2 this century. But I expect both teams to spend like crazy to get the upper hand.

But we digress from the subject...

A couple thing us Sox fans can always count on...those Yank fans being ingratious winners and having trouble counting...seems like from tpop1's neck of the woods in CT there's a 110% population of fans; 50% Yanks, 50% Sox and 10% Mets?? No wonder Steinbrenner can afford the best team on the planet.

Sox will be back in force in 2010...following the Patriots model of signing old timers, we're looking forward to Schilling, Jim Lonborg and El Tiante coming out of retirement to carry the team to victory!
